What is the third (3rd) house of the birth chart?

The 3rd house is also known as the horoscope's house of courage, communication, and younger siblings. This is the first house of Kama trikon (lust). Thus, it also shows our basic inclinations. The natural owner of this house is Mercury with the symbol of a pair symbolising mates of either gender. This house also shows our immediate neighbours. It also shows interest or proficiency in gossip or media-related knowledge.   

A person’s writing can also be seen getting affected by this house since it represents the arms for control and mercury for writing communication. 3rd house gives information about the ability to write well. This house of courage since it is a Kama trikon house, the 3rd house gives/shows the competitive spirit. The 3rd house is the addition or the wealth of the 2nd house as in astrology every next house is the wealth of the present house and one house behind is the expense of the house.

Now the very basic nature of this conjunction of some bohemian kind of nature that this house brings will surely show the traits in the person in every house. The question that comes is how will that be different from the first house in that case as it’s the ascendant only which primarily defines what a person becomes over some time.

The second house is verbal communication so add to that is non-verbal communication which is shown by the 3rd house. This house is also the house of courage which is a very important house in any horoscope as not only it is the courage it is 8th from the 8th house so the death of the death house. If none of the houses in the horoscope are good but the 3rd house is strong and the 3rd lord is also good then come what in the life of the native, the native will have the strength of will to change one’s fate. So, Ketu will prevent a native from getting into difficult situations of physical fights and will either not be involved in anything involving physical fights or run away if that person gets into any physical altercation native might act in a headless manner without thought that is signified by Ketu.
